YMCA of the USA

I had the misfortune of working at Y-USA headquarters. There was a “conference center” that was a complete failure. It was one half a floor with 4 conference rooms & 2 break out rooms. There were no private restrooms for meeting attendees and no full service kitchen for meals. Meeting attendees shared the same 3 bathroom stalls with staff. There was no way to keep the catered meals hot. I have a background in meeting planning and had used the services of a conference center before. I knew how a conference center should operate. The Y-USA conference center was a mess. Management was also a joke. They didn’t take employees concerns seriously. Working there gave me such a negative opinion of the entire YMCA network. I’ll never support a YMCA or step foot inside one.

Your Flint, MI location on Pierson road displays reserved lap swim times from 5-5:50p daily but does not and refuses to reserve the pool during that time for lap swim. We brought this up to staff that about 6 people were waiting on lanes and asked if they would reserve the pool as theu suggest they do online and they said no and to write a complaint.

Do not go to the YMCA i was miss lead the information , instead of a $15 drop in they want you to pay $40 a month non -member for just that class and there is limited spots, they wouldn't do anything about it, there is no corporate for that one so im emailing the CEO , the "head manager' was rude and stupid .

They're taking money but not providing all of the classes listed in NC. Doubt it's the only state this is happening in. Maybe someone should see just how common an occurrence this is since nobody can answer phones to explain why they're taking money without fully providing what's agreed to upon receiving payment.

So I just called customer service to ask about details about nationwide memberships - I just don't really understand what a nationwide membership is because when signing up at any YMCA they really don't tell you if you're a nationwide or some other type of member - so I called to ask for some clarification. The woman who answered the phone was very dismissive of anything I had to ask and cut me off and just said I need to talk to my local YMCA aggressively as if she just could not deal with this convo which lasted less than a minute. Very poor service representative.
