Update: The company remedied the issue after my compliant. Good platform, been their customer for years. Now they're forcing me to use their TCommerce by threatening to charge transaction fees if I don't switch. That's not the right way to treat your loyal customers Greg. If you had given me a better incentive to switch I'd done it earlier. Won't be a Thinkific customer much longer.

As a web developer I had to test this platform for my client. I upgraded my account to test the features, and got a refund (with no hassle). Really great customer support from Joanne. Thanks guys! Keep up the great work.

I recently had an unsettling experience with Thinkific's billing system, prompting me to share this cautionary tale. Initially, I had a free plan with Thinkific, enjoying their platform's features. However, my contentment took a nosedive when, on the 20th of this month, I discovered an unauthorized charge of $49USD debited from my bank account by Thinkific. Frustrated and confused, I promptly reached out to their customer service, initiating a series of back-and-forth emails. Initially, a representative named 'Von' apologized and advised me to switch back to the free plan to process a refund. Despite my insistence that I never signed up for a paid plan, I complied and canceled the erroneous subscription as instructed. However, to my dismay, Von later informed me that my refund request was beyond their 7-day window, which made no sense given the timeline—I contacted them on the same day as the charge. To add insult to injury, I was informed that Thinkific doesn't typically issue refunds, contradicting Von's earlier assurance. Persistently, I continued to contest the charge, highlighting my rightful position within the refund window and the fact that I never intended to subscribe to a paid plan. After days of fruitless communication and escalating frustration, I received an email from Sandra, purportedly stepping in for Von, reiterating the company's stance on the refund issue. Despite their acknowledgment of the erroneous charge, I was offered a mere $31.03 credit, which I have no use for as I only want the free plan - and which holds no value for someone solely seeking a simple return of their stolen money. Thinkific's lack of accountability and refusal to rectify their mistake left me deeply disappointed and stressed. This ordeal not only reflects poorly on Thinkific's integrity but also underscores a recurring issue of wrongful charges, as evidenced by similar experiences shared by others online. In conclusion, based on my harrowing encounter and the troubling trend of erroneous billing, I strongly advise against entrusting Thinkific with your course hosting needs.

We've been using them for about 5 years now. I recently tried to put things on hold while we were not using the system. This is done by cancelling the subscription. Billing continued and there is no recourse or credit available. So.... buyer beware. Take screenshots and get them to confirm your account will not be billed!!!! Moving to another platform. I am surprised they don't value their customers a little more than a couple of months fees.

I'm a power user who made $2.5M selling courses with Teachable. Recently Teachable switched to a very expensive pricing scheme, so I moved my school to Thinkific. I paid for the Grow plan for the entire year in order to be able to use their email marketing feature. Today I found out that they suspended my email sending privileges due to not having unsubscribe link in my email. WHICH THEY SAID WAS TECHNICALLY IMPOSSIBLE WHEN I REACHED OUT AND ASKED HOW I CAN ADD UNSUBSCRIBE LINKS TO MY MESSAGES!!! Planning to sue them in small claims court but they're in Canada, so not sure if it's a good idea to work with them unless you reside in Canada. Regret moving my school to Thinkific. Stay away!
