Absolutely amazing! The amount of times I have driven past this restaurant and not thought to look it up is crazy! My dinner last night was incredible! We sat at the bar and I loved the elegant but casual vibes. The staff was so kind and I immediately struck up conversation with Mikey who gave me all the recommendations for food, knowing it was my first time - he was so kind professional, fun and elevated the experience for me! He started us off with this beautiful warm lobster salad appetizer that melted in my mouth and was surrounded by beet coulis (wild but perfect combo). I had the Scallops with Butternut Squash Agnolotti and OMG...the scallops were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection - my tastebuds were going nuts! The Agnolotti was cooked al dente and the creamy butternut squash inside was so warm and silky (fall in your mouth). My friend had the special: Seabass and it was so flaky and flavorful! Mikey also surprised us with their Cheesecake that is covered with rosemary caramel, which sounds different, but it works so freaking well and the creamy smooth texture of the cheesecake with that sauce was just out of this world! I'm more of a cookie person but I would go back for this dessert! We shared a very nice bottle of wine as well and I was so giddy because I love great food, good vibes overall experience and this place has it all. They even gave us cute little cookies on our way out! What is this place?!?! GO NOW! I highly recommend! Also, HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY TARBELL'S (today)! 🥳 🫶🏻

Was in PHX for work and decided to eat here for a table of 5. We made a booking earlier that day for a Wednesday night in fall. When we arrived we were seated no issues and had a very attentive server who took out drinks orders first before talking us through the menu for food. He gave good suggestions and when the wine was brought we were offered a taste prior to full pour, even on wine by the glass. We ordered the carpaccio, the mozzarella and the tempura calamari to share as starters. All three were wonderful, only feedback was the bowl the mozzarella came in completely covered the tomatoes and made for sharing very difficult as the bowl basically swallowed the mozzarella. The tempura batter in the calamari was perfect and carpaccio is smothered in great cheese and tasted divine. We ordered the bolognese, the big meatball, the chicken sausage rainbow pasta and the lemon pop pizza and two of our diners indicated that they were going to the shared the pasta and the pizza and so when the plates arrived they had already split the pasta into our own bowls which I thought was so lovely so we didn’t pass plates backwards and forwards over the table. The bolognese was the best ever tasted according to those that ordered it. And the meatball was fairly large and tasted lovely. The rainbow pasta was not what I excited it was much more soupy in texture but the flavor and the handmade pasta was so tasty. The pizza was almost too much for us to finish so we boxed it and took it home. Came to about $130 per person but the service and food quality was worth it.

I can see why Tarbells has been an institution on Camelback for so many years. When we stepped in, we were professionally greeted and ushered to our reserved table for 2 immediately. Appetizer was the House Cured Bacon Candy Salad. Fantastic. Great balance of savory, salty, and sweet. And best of all, because they knew we were splitting it, they split it nicely and ensured each of us received a gorgeous poached egg on top. Entrees were the Moon River Ranch Ribeye (cooked to perfection) and the hand cut ribbon pasta (very, very good) and a pizza (which we knew we couldn’t finish but we really wanted to, it was so good). Dessert was the chocolate mousse. Velvety and sumptuous. And they comped it (not sure why, because there was zero service issues) In fact, service was efficient and friendly. Drinks were also pretty good. All in all, a great meal and no surprise that Tarbells has been around so many years. Already thinking about the next reservation.

We recently returned to Tarbell's to celebrate a milestone—ten years since our first date, which also happened to take place here. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary. I briefly mentioned in the reservation notes that we were hoping to sit at least in the same general areas as our first date, and didn't think much else of it. From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. The food, as always, was impeccable, and the wine list was both extensive and thoughtfully curated. But what truly elevated the evening was the genuine care and kindness shown by the entire team. After casually mentioning our special occasion, the staff worked to make the night uniquely ours, even seating us in the exact spot where we first sat a decade ago. Their thoughtful gestures, attention to detail, and warm hospitality made this celebration a cherished memory we will carry forever. Tarbell's didn't just serve us a meal—they gave us an experience filled with joy and heartfelt connection. Thank you, Tarbell's, for turning a lovely dinner into a lifetime memory. We are deeply grateful and will always hold this restaurant in the highest regard. Five stars simply doesn't feel like enough!

Spectacular dining experience. Our friends in Phoenix suggested Tarbell's, and we are so glad. They have a small private dining room which h sears 6 comfortably. Our friends know Mark. The wine list is great. We had individual glasses which were very good, and true healthy 6 ounce pours. I had the Salmon which was excellent. Overall a fine dining experience.
