I used Smith Publicity for consulting as well as a three month publicity campaign for my YA fantasy novel Where the Lightning Goes. I'm a first time author and still got over seventy reviews on Goodreads before my book's release. I have a small platform and did almost no social media work prior to release. I worked with Andrea and Olivia, both of whom were knowledgeable and respectful. They answered questions quickly and adjusted communications to what worked best for me. They're hardworking and honest, and I can't recommend them enough. PR firms are expensive, but they're worth the investment.

The Smith Publicity team was excellent. They were professional, personal and kind. From Corinne who planned my book marketing campaign to Janet who jumped in when needed and my publicist Katie - they were all a pleasure to work with.They operate in a tough business, and were honest with me from the beginning. Especially now with media being so overwhelmed with a constant barrage of breaking news, it's difficult for a book and author to het attention.. But Smith fought hard, very hard, to get me placements. And I truly appreciate that. Aside from being talented, they are just plain nice people. Thank you, Smith.

Working with Lydia Rasmussen of Smith Publicity was a fantastic experience. She is the first person I've worked with who was able to explain how Amazon's algorithms in an understandable manner. Moreover, she helped me figure out the most influential keywords, how to craft a better description to maximize the Amazon listing and enhance the exposure potential for my book. Go with eyes wide open, and Smith take great care of you. I knew when I wrote my book that marketing is hard, very hard, and book sales are very hard to get. Smith isn't perfect, but they're the best book PR firm I've worked with, and I've written 7 books using 4 different PR firms. The thing many authors don't understand - no one said this was going to be easy -- writing your book was the easy part, trust me. Even when you pay pros like Smith, you are still going to need to work hard - they can't do everything, and there may some things YOU can actually do better than them, like handling your social media and keeping it current. My advice to people thinking about writing a book - think long and hard about it. This s a tough business. Good, solid professionals like Smith Publicity can help quite a bit and they are talented, but they're not perfect and they can't do everything.

Smith did a wonderful job helping my debut novel gain exposure.
