Salishan coastal lodge customer reviews

My husband and I went to the Salishan Lodge for our 10 year wedding anniversary. The lodge grounds are well kept, laid out well, and beautiful. The staff was so kind and accommodating. They gave us sparkling cider (because we don't drink alcohol) for our 10 year anniversary! We also found two glass floats while we were there. They hide two glass floats per day on the grounds for their guests to find. The game room/library was super cute. The attic food was good. The pool was super nice. Just a really cute, fun getaway.

We did not stay here but would like to. We did have lunch there more than once though at the downstairs cafe. At this visit it was a welcome casual setting where we could have our two small children. Highly recommend getting to chowder first as it comes out quick. We also were able to spend some time in the lobby - I was able to be cozy while nursing, sitting by the fire, and there was a trunk of activities for kids that was helpful keeping my toddler entertained waiting for food.

Very loud and very tired rooms. Salishan Lodge has always been a favorite of ours, but my how times have changed. It has been a decade since our last stay and were looking forward to our return. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. We knew we were in for a noisy stay when we walked into our second floor room and noticed the flooring in the room was vinyl wood planking. We listened to the incessant stampede of feet above us for the majority of the day and night. Someone above us must have been wearing boots because the footsteps were LOUD and HEAVY. It was relentless. The cleanliness of the room was sub par at best. I moved the coffee maker to use the electrical outlet and behind it was dirt, dust and a few dead insects. The shower had long dark hair on the walls that most definitely did not belong to me or my partner. On the high side, the bed was clean and comfortable. If you have a room near the highway be advised that using your balcony is no-go. The traffic noise is constant. The windows do provide good sound proofing so you do not hear the traffic while in your room. From a service standpoint, the folks in reception were lovely. The bar staff, on the other hand, were not. We sat at the bar in the Attic for 10 minutes before the bartender even said one word to us. Not even a nod in our direction. Oh well, we will always have our memories of past stays. We will not be back.

Loved this lodge. Staff is friendly. The property is well maintained, and there are plenty of spots to hang out. I do feel like the rooms need a little updating, but otherwise, it's a very comfortable bed. A large bathroom and room itself are spacious. Being dog friendly is a huge plus. We did have an issue with our shower, but it was resolved in the morning and given a voucher for inconvenience. Would appreciate it if they could store guests' things in their freezer if it's kept to a minimal. I would recommend this, especially if you take advantage of all that is offered on the property.

Family member sent email to management that went unanswered. Patrons of the lodge for over 25 years through various ownership groups and hoping for improvement… We have noticed lots of recent aesthetic improvements (flowers, decor, lighting fixtures, etc) while material issues exist. Exercise & pool facility needs attention. Pool light has been out of the pool for nearly a half year and is a hazard (see picture of light on pool deck deep end - prime tripping hazard and glass near pool = no no). Mold appears to be growing on chairs. General pool area has an unpleasant moldy/mildewy odor it hasn’t had in years prior. Scum lines in pool and hot tub suggest poor maintenance (pictured), as does algae growth around the pool deck. Fitness room has newer workout bands and balls but it really needs a deep cleaning. Exercise bikes are caked in filth with broken features / pedals. Lots of hair/dirt under machines (pictured) - not pleasant when using a provided yoga mat to stretch on the floor… Locker room looks neglected and seldom smells freshly cleaned. Even the wall-mounted hand sanitizer dispenser by pool was filthy at last visit (pictured). Also, Attic Lounge food has gone from ok to dreadful. Last visit featured cold soup and rubbery chicken breast “grilled strips” that seemed to be the pre-cooked deli variety (served cold). Replacement burger was kindly offered but was also not good and tasted like a tough, frozen patty that was not on-par with expectations or cost.

I'm not sure when this was built, but it had to be sometime in the 60s. I grew up close to the coast range and this was a hallmark of luxury growing up. I...
