I had an incredible experience at Rush University Medical Center, where I gave birth in June. From start to finish, the entire team was wonderful. The nurses in the induction department were kind and attentive, making sure I was comfortable and well-informed throughout the process. I especially want to highlight my labor and delivery nurse, Rhonda. She was exceptionally supportive, kind, encouraging, and knowledgeable, which made all the difference during my labor. The postpartum care nurses were also amazing, providing excellent care and support for both me and my baby. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I am so grateful for the fantastic team at Rush!

I visited Rush today because my friend was having an operation for acute appendicitis. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Brandon at the information desk. He helped me sign up to receive procedure update messages. During my arrival time, my friend was still in the surgery. Brandon was very patient when I had questions regarding the surgery, recovery area, and the room. He had a time shift around 5:30 pm and noticed me still waiting to visit my friend. Brandon provided me with a parking validation due to my friend’s operation. In addition, he shared my situation with his colleague to advance the procedure for visiting my friend. Brandon is accommodating. His colleague at the information desk and the nurses who helped my friend were also amiable and patient. In conclusion, my experience at Rush was exceptionally positive. Their professionalism, helpfulness, knowledge, and excellent communication skills contributed to a seamless visit. I am genuinely grateful for their assistance and wholeheartedly recommend them for their outstanding service.

I had a highly disappointing experience with Rush University Medical Center regarding a billing issue. After being charged over $400, I called and spoke with the staff to clarify the situation. Both over the phone and in person, the staff confirmed that my insurance was in-network. However, it turns out my insurance was processed incorrectly, and now I’m being told that I owe money to the hospital. The most frustrating part is that the hospital is refusing to acknowledge their mistake. They assured me multiple times that my insurance was within their network, but now they are saying I don’t qualify for financial assistance and that I need to pay the bill. This situation is entirely their fault, not mine. The staff made the error by falsely confirming that I was in-network, and now they don’t want to take responsibility or correct their mistake. The staff at this location are not only rude and unhelpful but also completely unprofessional. Their unethical behavior has caused me unnecessary stress and financial strain. It’s infuriating that they refuse to admit their error and expect me to pay for their mistake. Given my experience, I would advise others to think twice before seeking care at this facility. Their incompetence and unwillingness to correct their errors are unacceptable.

The ER wait times are completely awful. On several occasions now my father has had to wait over 4 hours just to be able to get a bed, and receive any form of care. This is not how a hospital should be ran. I understand they may be understaffed, but if so hire more nurses or doctors to accommodate the patients. They definitely need to work on improving their ER wait times especially with prioritizing patient care because to have my father recently become an amputee and have to wait 5 and a half hours on top of also having a severe infection is completely absurd. The inpatient care is a little better, but the emergency care definitely needs improvement. The bathrooms we’re also very nasty.
