The food was phenomenal and the service was excellent. We went in for an early (5pm) dinner before a show and were seated as walk ins. Would go again in a heartbeat.

We came with no expectations at all, based on the descriptions on the menu nothing looked really appealing. In fact, we were two seconds away from going to another restaurant to meet friends. That’s when the magic started, Stephany was absolutely amazing, she recommended two dishes out of the menu and we totally trusted her. She did her absolutely best to communicated with us in Spanish, always with a big smile on her face and the best attitude . Her two recommendations totally blew our minds and thanks to her we will recommend this restaurant with all our friends in the congress this week. She is a keeper!! Congrats!!!!! PS: the dessert is out of this world. Thank you so much Stephany !!!!

Ray’s in the City is situated in the Downtown area of Atlanta. It is opposite the John Portman BLVD entrance to the Peachtree Center MARTA station. I managed to get a table without prior booking at around 4 pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I had to wait a short time whilst a table was cleaned for me. I was also handed the lunch menu when I wanted something more substantial. I eventually acquired the full menu and opted for Charleston She Crab soup to start, 12oz Filet Mignon and creamed spinach for main course and Key Lime pie for dessert. To drink, I had a couple of tins of IPA and the house signature liquor coffee with dessert. The alarm bells started to ring when I received my main course before the starter. This was eventually rectified. The soup was delicious but there was no accompanying bread. Getting the 12oz rather than 8oz Filet Mignon was a mistake on my part. It was decent but a little hard to digest. The spinach was nice but there was far too much of it (probably due to the $13 cost). After my main course, the liquor coffee arrived well before my dessert meaning it was nearly finished by the time the Key Lime pie arrived. Both coffee and dessert were good as were the cans of IPA. Although my waiter was friendly enough, getting it in the wrong order twice is not acceptable. As for the cost for one - $155 plus $30 service charge was far too much. OK probably for Atlantan high flyers but over the top for the less affluent UK visitor.

Lovely restaurant in Atlanta. The service was excellent. We tried the fried calamari and martinis to start. The filet mignon was very good. I ordered medium however it came rare. But overall enjoyable. Definitely a spot to try while in the city.
