Omada health customer reviews

I cannot even bring myself to give this company 1 star, however it will not allow me to finish or process this unless I give it 1 star. People are busy, they have jobs and other responsibilities. Why Omada thinks a good idea to have customers check in with them about making good choices is beyond me. They have made it nearly impossible to get my medication which I have missed for 2 weeks now. This all smells like a money making scam. Please Omada go away and stop messing with individuals choices to get healthy and feel better. You're not helping at all. Zero stars from me.

I wish I could give negative 1 Stars. This app is not, at all useful to someone who has an education in Health and Medicine. It does not offer any type of nutrition and calorie or activity tracking, either static or interactive. You would think "the number one health app..." would understand the importance of balancing meals and nutrition and being able to calculate caloric intake with activity for a daily surplus or deficit, to help you reach your goals. This app is made for people who have little knowledge of how to prepare and eat healthful meals, maintain healthy habits, or exercise and for patients who are more inclined to respond to emotional support rather than self-satisfaction. Weight loss is NOT one-size fits all, and neither is weigh GAIN. The industry needs to understand there are some who are knowledgeable but have encountered situations that led to weight gain, such as adult-onset diseases or accidents that may have left them temporarily unable to REMAIN fit. If this was not required by my Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Insurance to cover my GLP-1 'scrip, there is no way I would use it. Ever. I am FED UP with not being to get my prescription filled because I forgot to read one of their unenlightening lessons. I see this easily becoming a legal matter.

Based on my recent experience, Omada Health offers a good app and excellent health coaches. My coach, Elissa, has been incredibly encouraging and helpful, while also holding me accountable when needed (which I appreciate). For example, she recently pointed out that the protein supplement I was using was fine but should be limited to one meal per day due to some less-than-ideal ingredients buried in the list. She was right, and I’ve since followed her advice. The good news? I’m losing weight. Regarding the frustration expressed in this chat about being required to use Omada, I’m in the same boat. However, after spending about eight hours over two weeks trying to navigate the Aetna/Express Scripts/Omada prescription fill process, I found that the delays were with Express Scripts—not Aetna or Omada. For example, my understanding is that Omada sends my compliance data to Express Scripts at roughly the same time each day in the form of a small text file. My prescription won’t be filled unless Express Scripts receives this data and deems it compliant. While Express Scripts claims it takes "1-3 days" to process, I’ve consistently observed a three-day delay. Three days to detach and upload what I estimate to be a 100KB text file? Really? This is 2025, not 1985. As for Omada’s (Express Script's) compliance requirements, they’re fairly minimal. I need to open the app and review a document four times a month and step on the Omada provided scale four times a month (which automatically sends my weight data to Omada). Altogether, these tasks could take less than five minutes per month. While the mandatory weigh-ins feel intrusive, I’ve found many of the articles on the Omada app to be insightful, so I check in several times a week for guidance and to track my progress. In summary, I believe Omada and Aetna do a great job supporting my health journey, especially given the complexities of the U.S. healthcare system. However, Express Scripts has significant room for improvement before I can say the same for them.

I also was forced to sign up for Omada to qualify for my weight loss medication through Express Scripts. I registered today and tried calling just to ask questions. Once I select the option to speak to someone, the line immediately disconnects. Definitely not off to a good start. I see this process further delaying me getting my medication which I'm sure that's what it was designed to do. So frustrating.

If you don't use the Omada scale every day they will report you as inactive. Then your insurance company says you aren't meeting the requirements to get your medication. However, if my doctor says the medication is working and says it necessary, they don't care about that... It's awesome how people with no medical training or skills, get to make your medication decision. But seeing the same doctor your entire life, has no say. They are just another mountain in the US medical system, that everyday people have to climb to get treatment.
