Nuffield health customer reviews

A Truly Outstanding Gym Experience at Nuffield Health I’ve been using Nuffield Health for a while now, and I have to say it’s a truly fantastic gym. From the moment you step inside, the cleanliness and organization are second to none. Every piece of equipment is in perfect working order—this year, I’ve only seen one machine out of service, and it was clearly marked to let members know. The gym is incredibly well-equipped with everything you could possibly need: a vast array of treadmills, plenty of cardio machines, and free weights, as well as specialist equipment like in-body analyzers for measuring body fat, muscle, and water levels. The gym floor is spacious, and there are plenty of classes available right on the floor. What truly sets Nuffield Health apart is the staff. Hannah, the front-of-house receptionist, is absolutely phenomenal. She greets every member with a warm smile, engages in conversation, and makes you feel like part of the family. It’s that personal touch that makes such a difference. The facilities are equally top-notch. The steam room, sauna, and swimming pool are always clean and in great working condition. The changing rooms and studios are spotless, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. Accessibility is excellent, too. The gym is conveniently located opposite Barbican Station, with bus routes nearby, and just a short 5–10 minute walk from Farringdon Station. Admittedly, the membership price is on the higher side, but it reflects the quality of the equipment, facilities, and service. For the level of care, cleanliness, and professionalism you receive, it’s absolutely worth it. In short, I cannot fault this place. Nuffield Health delivers on all fronts—a fantastic gym that goes above and beyond to make fitness an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

OVERPRICED FOR WHAT THEY OFFER: I had high expectations for this gym, especially considering the membership fee. I had the chance to try it out before committing to a membership through the Easter Egg initiative, where you can get a free pass by donating an egg. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to try the facilities before enrolling, as I won’t be signing up after my visit. I was very disappointed. The gym was overcrowded, and the equipment was almost impossible to use due to the number of people. I thought I could at least relax in the "Spa" area, but the steam room was closed and, when speaking to other members in the changing room, they mentioned this happens quite frequently. The sauna is also very small and couldn’t accommodate everyone. I ended up sitting in the corner, cramped next to 10 other people with barely any space. Additionally, the water in the pool didn’t seem clean, and this morning I woke up with a skin allergy reaction, which only adds to my disappointment. Overall, I would not recommend this gym. There are definitely better gyms in the area that offer a much better experience and you can get better deals.

I recently visited this gym during a trip to London, and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. As someone who works in customer experience, I noticed that the service here was below expectations. I was greeted by a blonde female receptionist on the evening of 13/03, and her tone was rude and unwelcoming. She made no effort to improve the experience or make me feel valued as a guest. First impressions are incredibly important, and based on this experience, I would not recommend this gym to anyone.

A big fan of this Nuffield! They have 3 massive studios, 2 of them have video screens so you can have a class taught to you on demand video, very clever! There's a running track around the gym too, which is something different and a nice touch. The pool is great, I enjoy my swims there, and the facilities are clean and well maintained. There's a steam and sauna in both changerooms.

The two female cleaners who are always working the weekday evening shift laugh and talk about other women walking out of the showers and make fun of their bodies in English and in their own native language ( assuming no one else can understand them). I’m shocked at their recurrent behaviour and it’s totally unacceptable and makes me feel really uncomfortable getting changed. There are only 3 private cubicles in the female changing room so the majority get changed openly. They sit at the back of the changing room and have full view of anyone who walks out of the showers/ steam room/ changing room openly mocking members. It’s hard enough joining a gym to try and get fit without getting laughed at in the changing room by the very people who work there ! Really poor service and creates an unsafe changing environment.
