Honestly, I wish that my OB/GYN never recommended this service. I have found Natera’s services to be incredibly not useful in my pregnancy journey and incredibly stressful financially. I have spoken with customer service on multiple occasions now, explicitly telling them how to bill my insurance and yet I am almost 6 months post “date of service” still receiving bills telling me that I have no insurance on file, which is not accurate and it’s directly impacting what they’re trying to charge me. I just wish so much that I never used their services, it has only caused stress and provided nothing helpful at all. So my advice is if you can choose, don’t use Natera.

Editing my review and updating from 1 star to 2. One very good sales rep (Megan in Kirkland) was able to help with my billing issue after reaching out to billing multiple times. Megan's customer service was 5 stars. Nevertheless, I think the billing practice of Natera overall is wildly predatory and borderline fraudulent. I will avoid ever getting entangled with this company again. My only saving grace was a piece of paper that I had saved from my original appointment that laid out the cost of service out of pocket. So my advice to any other expectant parents who have to use this service is save every piece of paper and get careful documentation of agreed out of pocket price. What a difficult company to work with regarding billing. I was provided a “prompt pay discounted rate” by my clinic (picture attached) for both the cfDNA/NIPT test & carrier screening test for a flat fee of $450, as my insurance didn’t cover the tests. Each test was given a different case ID # by Natera. Within one week I received & paid for one of the case ID #s ($249) and received a receipt. Weeks & months go by & the second case ID #’s bill is still not ready so I couldn’t pay the remaining amount owed of $201… until one day I received a bill of $749(!!!!). I called and turns out Natera had billed my insurance, which they were NOT supposed to do, and they were unable to honor the discounted rate of $201. In addition, the employee could not find my original payment receipt of $249 and told me I still owed that balance as well. Needless to say, I spoke with a supervisor who explained that my account didn’t match my name and therefore he could no longer assist me due to HIPAA laws. The conversation ended there. I called back 2 weeks later, when I received yet another bill for $749. The woman I spoke to this time around was much more competent and explained that my name had magically been restored on my account, they did see my initial payment of $249, and approval had been authorized to honor the prompt pay discount rate, but they were unable to honor the initial rate I had received from my clinic of $201. They stated $249 per test is “as low as they could go”. So, to close the book on this infuriating saga I paid the balance they requested of $249 over the phone & will follow up in 3-5 business days to confirm the remaining balance of $500 has been wiped from my account. EDIT: it’s been almost 6 weeks and the $500 balance still hasn’t been wiped. Infuriating.

I echo the other reviews here. This company’s Billing and customer service are rubbish. I made a mistake by self paying for the service then later realised my insurance actually covers it, and I have made my deductibles for the year. They put me through different teams and finally told me they can’t do anything to help me to get paid by insurance because “my case is already closed.” Just a bunch of lazy people who have no interests in helping their customers. I will give this feedback to my medical providers too. There are many other testing companies available nowadays, avoid this one!

Fraud billing. Worst and Rude customer care. Just don’t use their services. I was advised both by the doctor and Natera that the Panorama will not cost me more than $249 out of pocket independent of the insurance. They handed my insurance a bill of $3990 for the test they advertise for $249. Insurance denied to pay the bill and they made me responsible to pay $531 out of pocket. If I wouldn’t have shared the insurance at first place, I would just need to pay $249. Such a scam.
