Mission Bay Inn San Diego

I can only say that you get what you pay for. But I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Pros- location was easy to find and multiple entrances/exits, prices, breakfast is provided, elevator. No bed bugs or roaches. Convenience stores are easily walkable. Cons- our room was covered in visible mold and water damage. Hot water took forever to kick in. Bathroom vent was not working. Outdated decor/appliances. Room keys are sensitive and would de-magnetize on their own, at random. Breakfast was only served for 2 hrs (7am-9am) and not everything is offered everyday. Over half of the hotel was under construction, so debris is everywhere and noisy. Pool is not accessible. Thin walls, so you could hear everything from everyone next to you and above you. Not every room has a do not disturb sign available. Door does not latch unless you let it slam shut (which is really loud and shakes the walls) or you either pull/push it completely closed, otherwise if you just let it close behind you, you could still push/pull it open, when you thought it was latched already.

TV doesn't work, phone doesn't work (person can't hear me but I can hear them,) The front desk person was rude and sounded impatient. The entire place looks like it's been under construction for awhile. Our room was taped off to be painted but dusty like the tape has been up for awhile. You can hear people talking outside and smoking all night. The room has just old wear and tear and needed much TLC The price was decent and the location is near the freeway but it was a bit tricky to find the entry way

This place is only for if you need shelter for the night. Burn stains all around the doors. The ceiling is ripped and cracked as if the building can just fall apart at any moment. It stinks in there. Its moldy very poor ventilation. The (free) breakfast is old. They steal your 100 dollar deposit as well, didn't even stay more than 24 hours, therefore the temporary deposit shouldn't of even gone through. The internet sucks the tv skips. The lady in the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional looking. The Jacuzzi doesn't work, no bleach in the water and its is yellowish looking. The police 🚓 are heavily in there constantly. They don't list anywhere that it's under construction before arrival plus they put you in the old rooms that are falling apart. They don't let you know what time construction will be working either so you will be awaken by loud banging noises. Save your 💰 money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Warning you will thank me later.

Nice place, but on the pricey side. It's hard for me as a local-ish to want to spend so much money to be on the water and in San Diego. I'm spoiled living by the water with incredible weather year round. That said, the hotel is oddly arrange, the front desk you can almost miss. The rooms are arrange in spread out buildings. Was upgraded to bay view room with fireplace, that was nice. Though i probably would not pay for the extra wood if i was staying more than two nights. Nice view of the fireworks display from Sea World. Did not get to eat at the property other than the catered meals during the conference. With all the food options in Downtown SD we were more inclined to eat our dinners out. Overall a good place to visit/stay if you are not from SoCal.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The rooms have a strong musty odor, likely due to humidity, and feel unclean. The morning staff member seemed very unhappy, which affected the overall experience—though I empathize, it’s important not to project that onto customers. Additionally, I saw cockroaches in the breakfast area, which was very concerning. Overall, it was a disappointing stay.
