Jack Stack Barbecue

Visiting from out of state. While in town, I decided to go to this restaurant based on the reviews. I was not by all means wowed by the food, it was okay, have definitely had better as the beef and sausage lacked taste. Therefore I’d say that I was a little disappointed. Price wise, their prices are reasonable based on portion sizes! The atmosphere was nice and the service was good. If in town again, I probably would not visit again.

Food, service and atmosphere were all great and lived up to the previous reviews! Had brisket and hickory chicken. My husband LOVED the brisket (best he’s ever had!). We also had the carrot cake which was really good! Service was really good, food came pretty quickly and the atmosphere was nice. Lots of seating and good decor.

Visiting from Michigan. Nice clean and friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Our waiter Frank was very attentive and fun. Way to go Frank, great job! The mac and cheese and baby back ribs were my favorite.

Visiting from the St Louis area we had to try some Kansas City BBQ. Jack Stack did not disappoint. An hour and half wait-time but it was worth it! Our food came up quick after ordering. Our waitress Kenya was excellent. Very professional with a great smile. We enjoyed the brisket, ribs, burnt ends, sausage, pulled pork, cheesy corn, baked beans, and the carrot cake to top of the dinner. Patio seating is awesome. Seeing and hearing the trains pass by was pretty cool. We will be back!

The host accidentally put the wrong number for our reservation, so we waited a while to be seated. However, I will say it was worth the wait. My favorite was the beef rib. Boy, do I love beed ribs, and these definitely delivered. The salad was so big and flavorful. I ready enjoyed the food here. Will definitely visit on my next trip to Kansas City.

Sunday afternoon early dinner on the patio. Server was very nice and attentive. Food was mediocre at best. Burnt ends were dry, ditto ribs which were more like candied jerky, ditto brisket. Disappointing after all the hype.

Went here with my wife for a nice dinner out while in KC for the weekend. It’s been a couple of years since visiting this location and they didn’t disappoint! We made a reservation and showed up early, they were very busy and managed to get us in ahead of schedule which was nice. Our waitress was excellent, the food was outstanding and the take home carrot cake was among the best I’ve had. A couple pointers, make a reservation, parking is tight in the area but there is a security monitored lot in the rear you can park in and it’s patrolled which is nice it’s free if going to one of the places there on the block, they asked to show our receipt as well upon exit. Brisket was excellent, ribs were nice and tender, cooked perfect and if you don’t know about the cheesy potato bake yet it’s a must try!

We booked a table but still waited 15 minutes to be seated,our server was more concerned with the next customers ,walked off without my order,said she thought we were sharing ! Eventually returned and said our wine choice was unavailable so we re selected, our food arrived but still no wine ,meanwhile she was attending diners that had arrived after ourselves. Eventually we managed to speak to someone who sorted the wine and said it was complementary, which was nice but not the point ,food was ok ,but feel the place is over rated and has become complacent with its standards of service and food .

I ordered a Poor Russ sandwich and my wife the burnt ends meat was greasy and fatty with very little taste The beans were sweet and tasty the onion rings were satisfactory All in all in the past we have had a great experience here it may just have been a busy day and quality was not as usual

I am hooked on Kansas City barbecue now. This was our first visit. Our waitress was awesome. She talked with us to help us try some new items The food was amazing I had beef burnt ends and pulled pork. My husband had pulled pork Wish we could go back already
