Hotel Universel Montreal

Mrs Song and her staff were super friendly and welcoming with our group during our stay. Very clean hotel with many services. Very well located for easy access and close to many restaurants, grocery stores and other amenities.

Stayed here for a few nights and it was an amazing place. The staff were super friendly and nice. There was a minor issue we had with our room being on the “pet friendly “ floor but they quickly accommodated us and had that changed. One employee that really stood out was William Knights, from beginning to end he was amazing, funny, polite and kind. He really helped make our stay so enjoyable. We hope to be back!!

The location of this hotel is very good for visiting the Biodome, Planetarium, Stadium, Botanical gardens which are in walking distance. The free parking is a huge asset and is very easy to get in and out of unlike some hotels where I've stayed in Montreal. I find it unfortunate that there is an extra charge to have a microwave in the room as when travelling with a bunch of kids I regard that as almost essential. The day we arrived the indoor pool was so cold that the kids couldn't stay in it but a coupe of brave ones tried it the next day and it was warmer so maybe that was just a fluke. If you don't mind a little walk there are some family restaurants and an IGA nearby.

Reasonably clean at this price point. But exposed wiring from a former fire alarm in our room and the thermostat doesn't connect to the heating unit. Once we figured out how to turn it on the room filled with a stale cigarette smell.

Stayed here because we attended New Year's Eve party. It is a nice hotel with very nice rooms. Great service from the front desk.They have an indoor pool, a restaurant and bar on the main floor. I'd definitely recommend.
