Hotel Bencoolen

- More a pension house than a 3 star hotel. We've stayed in better 3 star hotels more deserving. -Rm605 -No wifi, only sorry apologies from front desk staff -Bathroom stinks like a public toilet -Bathroom has molds. -Room was already available but they charged sin$120 for early check-in. -Luggage storage is in a corner beside a sofa where everyone passes by and can simply roll your luggage away. Not even a net cover to keep it safe and intact. -Overpriced. For the price they are charging it is not worth it at all. -One of the blankets had what looked like a lipstick stain or a blood stain. 08 Dec 2024

It's an average hotel with average service. The staff is seemingly not so friendly or at least the vibes are a bit cold. Please put on a smile on your face people 😉 The CIA restaurant staff is even worse with an all Indian or Malay origin staff. It's an old hotel so don't expect any modern amenities. The floor lobby leading to the rooms smells damp. The location is excellent though as you can walk around to see lots of places plus the MRT is just outside the hotel.

The air-conditioning of our room was not working properly. The room was very hot. We did not sleep well during our stay. I informed the front desk regarding our concern but they did not do anything about it. Our stay was terrible and uncomfortable. The food was bland and also has limited options. Their wifi was also acting up. If you have the means, please stay away from this hotel as much as possible. There are better hotels around the area.

Decent hotel in a great location. Easy access to MRT and other public transport services including taxi. Service was alright, towels were changed and bottled water was replenished upon request. The hotel should pay attention to hygiene. Also insufficient seats at lobby during peak hours (check in / check out)

Best hotel to stay if you are looking for an accommodation that's affordable, near MRT and bus stations. We arrive at the hotel around 7am to leave our luggage since check in time is 3PM, and went to explore the city. we choose to return to hotel at 8pm to check in and the receptionist are very responsive. It's good that they have steam iron and ironing board that we can use. MRT and Bus stations are just few steps from the hotel entrance which is great.
