Gators Dockside

Not very crowded tonight but perfect to catch a casual dinner before a movie next door. Full bar with a decent selection of beers on tap but what was especially nice was the happy and accommodating attitudes of every staff member! Smiles, casual conversation at the bar and I could tell there are a number of regulars. Plenty of TVs to watch whatever game you need to see. Also clean.

I’m going to start off by saying I love gators, I go there and order the same thing at multiple of their locations around Florida, however this current meal looks like they just scrapped the last of everything and passed it off, I ordered bacon jam which granted I haven’t ordered before but it appears to just be bacon bits thrown on top which I may of just looked at the photo wrong but I don’t see the part that would be the jam, I ordered Cajun cobia which I was very interested to try, however is just a 1/4inch dried up slab of mystery fish. Now the Cajun pasta which I’ve probably ordered about 20 times, and I’m aware some times has less Alfredo than other times so I always pay for extra Alfredo and they send me a basically empty container, i suspected it may of leaked out but whole bag is dry. This is most likely a one time occurrence and I don’t write reviews but I was just so dissatisfied with the lack of quality.

75¢ wings, I understand they’re cheap and a deal but this is ridiculous. One of my wings is smaller than a quarter. Came on Wednesday trivia night. Place was packed. Took forever to get service and the server was uninterested in giving us anything we asked for. Food came out quicker than our drinks or silverware, the only 2 things the server is responsible for. Go to Millers or Buffalo Wild Wings instead

After reading the Google reviews - we went to Gator’s and requested Noah as it has been suggested many times. My husband, daughter and I were treated to such a happy and bubbly personality. Noah was attentive without even being asked. He suggested the boneless wings as I am a wing connoisseur and also suggested the sauces. And he was right! It was the best way I’ve had your wings. I usually don’t base a server on restaurant reviews, but after experiencing an attentive and kind server like Noah - We will be back. This Gators is out of the way a bit, but Noah makes it worth it! Thank you Noah! We hope to see you again soon! What a great asset to the team. You should teach a class on serving etiquette. Many could benefit.

7/1/24 ~7:20pm First time visiting this place since our usual burger spot is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Instead of ordering takeout over the phone, we ordered at the location. It was raining on n off all day so we were lucky that the place wasn't packed for dinner yet. Free parking lot had lots of spaces available before dinner time (7pm). Greeted at the front desk/cashier by a friendly young man. He said he was new, so my husband and I were extra patient with getting our order in. We relayed the order twice since the 1st time he took a phone order (understandable), which mistakenly canceled our original order. The 2nd time, he supposedly had our order for dine-in instead of takeout so a senior staff member (Hudgins?) stepped in to help. We ordered 1 classic burger with a well-done egg, 1 order of 3 mini burgers well done, with fries and 10 boneless wings (half teriyaki, half garlic). Take-out/ to-go order took about 20-30 minutes to be ready and was made well / correct. Burger satisfied the fast food craving, fries were crunchy, and boneless wings were tasty. Lost 1 star for the service being slower than we expected. Though with more experience, that new guy will hopefully get better since he was personable and friendly, just not knowledgeable about what to enter on the POS (point-of-sale) kiosk. The location itself isn't our cup of tea (we prefer smaller quieter places), but for the bargoer, it has a welcoming large bar / open wood-paneled layout that has plenty of space. Air definitely smelled a bit like beer and lots of burgers, which are probably their best selling items. Might be back again for more burgers and fries.
