Chelsea Hotel, Toronto

Overall it was a decent experience but some issues: 1. there was a crane being taken down right next to our room which was extremely noisy early in the morning and seemingly old windows with little to no noise proofing. I get it, its the city so we expect some noise but dismantling a crane is extra.. That section of the road was also blocked off with a road closure sign but nothing to say to guests that the parking garage was still open so there was some back and forth and confusion that could have been solved with a sign indicating that the garage was still open. 2. The shower head had black mold all over it. This is unacceptable. I have pictures if you would like to see. The units are really starting to show their age. The soap tray are so old they are pitted from hard water. Seemingly the lack of refurbishments help to keep a lower price point which I appreciate but there's some pretty low hanging fruit here where some items could be replaced before a full refurb, which is definitely overdue. I had not stayed at the Chelsea for years. Still a great central location. Still friendly, helpful team with the bar staff being particularly friendly and helpful at the Elm St Bar. I enjoyed my stay and appreciate the price point but it may be time for some incremental upgrades and if you can't clean a shower head because it's too old, just replace it please. Thank you

Perfect location downtown. Walking distance to mall, mini stores, subway, busses, etc. The hotel itself was clean, our room was small and was a bit dirty when we arrived but overall was good. The complimentary food buffet was average (I found hair in my food twice while eating there), and the restaurant was delicious but pricey. Everyone who worked there was friendly and very helpful. They accommodated my father when he needed to get his heart surgery and was in recovery. We did end up moving rooms because of a pipe burst above us other than that, everything was great.

There are a range of rooms at this top-notch hotel, with my most recent stay (for a conference) on the 5th floor in a room that was good - but not as nice or spacious as others I've stayed in. Everything was comfortable, but the small balcony had clearly been used for smoking by a previous guest and not fully cleaned after. I suspect that wouldn't be the case in warmer months. The amenities of this hotel are stellar - great family area, both a "quick serve" style restaurant and a higher-end table service (which I would not return to, based on our experience - see notes re: food and drink) on site, and two great pool areas (only one of which is a selling feature in the winter). Huge shout-out to the front desk and concierge staff for their excellent service.

A decent stay for a few nights in Toronto with an honorable mention of a rooftop gym and pool that was desirable for a mid budget hotel! It was not a five star find as the rooms toilet continued to run through the night and the room was small but in a city space you can only expect so much space. The on site dining was decent with good hours of operation and the convenient location was nice.

Floor of the room had not been vacuumed ( peanuts on the floor, and I'm allergic, so I didn't bring them in!) At best, it's a three star, but given the event, we were there for the location was excellent. Pricing was in accordance with what was going on in Toronto at the time. The Chelsea consumed the Taylor Swift atmosphere, so that was a fun part of our stay. Service in the bar was phenomenal
