I had a great experience at CHEC training. From the team in the office/classroom to Dan at the pit i found everyone to be friendly and very helpful with any questions i had. Finished my classes/training feeling much more confident on each piece of machinery. I would highly recommend CHEC to anyone looking to move forward in a career in heavy equipment operation.

Great opportunity to learn on the excavator , bulldozer , backhoe and grader ! Would recommend students watching all the training videos on the specific machine you are on before you head out to the site to learn. This will save you allot of time getting familiar with the machine and how it operates! The instructor Tim made me feel comfortable especially on my first week when I was new and nervous . Positive attitude from Tim made me want to be there and even when I made mistakes I was advised professionally on how to correct them! I'm glad I had this opportunity to learn on the equipment and am glad it was a positive experience and was given allot respect from Tim the instructor at this school! The office people were also great thanks to Cindy and Lindsay as well.

The heavy equipment program is absolutely worthless. Maybe in the past it was better but it's a total cash grab now. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The "pit" is like a acre since the owner of the land is trying to make it farmland and took up most of the original pit. The machines are extremely old and will not equip you with the knowledge for any company that isn't operating back in the 90's. They will lie to you in the orientation with false statistics. They promise to make a resume for you but they will 100% lie about what you learned making you look like a liar on a work site. I recieved my resume and some of the stuff they put on it that they said I was competent at I had never done or was directed to do or taught to do. The books for the "observation" (funny how you don't actually observe anything) are torn to bits with pages missing. They even said for the week of in class learning they cut a significant portion of it to save time. Don't expect a job. You'll have to become a labourer and work your way up (unless you're a woman or a visible minority) which makes this school entirely pointless. Overall the heavy equipment college of Canada is a scam and should be driven out of business because it's a horrible institution. Nothing is redeemable about this place.

Excellent instructors, real-world experience, and CHEC helped me secure a job right out of college. This is the school to attend if you want a career in heavy equipment. Everyone is very helpful!
