Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago

I brought my son here after the pediatrician on call advise us to bring our son to the hospital. I get that it's NYE and it sucks to work on a holiday. The front staff was very friendly and kind. They gave me baby wipes when mine ran out and formula. The doctor was really nice and answered all my questions but the nurse practitioner was beyond rude. Came in the room already with an attitude. She was not friendly at all. Then when it came to check out she kept rolling her eyes because my baby was crying uncontrollably after getting a swab test. He is only 5 months old. You're a grown up the fact that you're an adult and rolling your eyes at a poor baby and had to step out because it was too much for you. I know it was because I can see the annoyed look on your face. Then came back once he was calm to still say nothing. You shouldn't be working at a children's emergency room if a baby crying is too much. They can't control their emotions. Especially being overtired for being in the ER for 8 hours.

I was there many years ago being treated for blood clots and lupus and these people were hands down the best ever. They did more for me than these regular hospitals I've been going to now. The doctors and nurses were amazing and my mom even loved them. Sadly I think a year after they relocated I had to leave but I was a patient with them from 2006-2012 I wish more hospitals were like this.

If I could give Lurie Children’s Hospital less than a star, I would. They do a poor job of posting what you actually owe in the mychart accounts. And somehow they just expect you to magically know how much you owe. They won’t tell you and then they’ll send you to collections if you don’t pay them. I was told one of my son’s medical bills would be waived because the doctor who did his surgery did such a bad job he almost killed my son and now I’m getting double charged for that same surgery. Apparently billing can’t do their own job and you have to quadruple check how much you owe because they won’t directly tell you. Never had such a worst experience with a Hospital in my life.

My son was admitted from Saturday to Wednesday. Everyone was great! Nurse Sarah and Abby took such great care of my son! The infectious disease team and Ortho team were phenomenal. They saved my son! The pediatric team was stellar. Dr. Brown is the bomb! I am always very happy with their outpatient staff but didn't know how great the overall staff is! I so appreciative and grateful for them .

This is a wonderful hospital. Everything has run on schedule, the doctors and nurses have taken as much time as we need to explain the procedure and answer our questions, and they were fantastic working with our four year old son.
