I brought my son here after the pediatrician on call advise us to bring our son to the hospital. I get that it's NYE and it sucks to work on a holiday. The front staff was very friendly and kind. They gave me baby wipes when mine ran out and formula. The doctor was really nice and answered all my questions but the nurse practitioner was beyond rude. Came in the room already with an attitude. She was not friendly at all. Then when it came to check out she kept rolling her eyes because my baby was crying uncontrollably after getting a swab test. He is only 5 months old. You're a grown up the fact that you're an adult and rolling your eyes at a poor baby and had to step out because it was too much for you. I know it was because I can see the annoyed look on your face. Then came back once he was calm to still say nothing. You shouldn't be working at a children's emergency room if a baby crying is too much. They can't control their emotions. Especially being overtired for being in the ER for 8 hours.

I had the worse experience today with this place. My son had appointment with genetics. I was running late which I don’t have control if there are accidents on the highway which unfortunately there were 2. I called to let them know my ETA and if it was okay for me to still come in with my son, if not I could turn around and go home The person who answered the phone asked me to wait a minute. She got back on the phone and said it was okay to still come in. I asked her if she was sure because I still had to look for parking and check in. She said no worries come on in, so there I go. I’m at desk to check in and the nurse from genetics calls me asking where I was. I told her I was checking in so she can tell me there and then that I wasn’t going to be seen. I’m like why didn’t you just tell me when I called the first time. She said that next time I needed to be at my appointment on time. I UNDERSTAND THAT., I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER ACCIDENTS THAT HAPPEN ON THE EXPRESS WAY! You guys told me to come in and then there was a h long a.. line to check in. Mind you I live 1 1/2 hr from the hospital and I still had to pay for parking. What a joke.

We worked with the pediatric neurology team, specifically Doctor Omery. Doctor Omery and the staff went above and beyond for my child. My child is 3 years of age, and due to a speech delay issue we were at a loss. We live 2 hours away from the office, but I still decided to come to Doctor Omery’s team after reading reviews (like these), and felt confident in their care from the moment I walked in. Not only did they explain everything in detail, and reassure us, but after my son’s MRI was sent to doctor Omery it was noted by the performing Radiologist the results were considered “normal”. But doctor Omery reviewed the images more deeply and was able to find a mild form of Gliosis, he even reviewed the results with 3 different radiologists who agreed with his diagnosis prior to us meeting with him (4 days later I should add, which is so fast). During the visit he took the time to show us the images and explain what we saw to better understand. I recommend doctor Omery and his staff wholeheartedly. Advocating for your child is hard, and they made sure to step in and do their job to their best abilities, and make us feel heard.

Now I personally don’t remember this but my mom just told me about it and I’m now 30 years old. But when I was 12 I started to have seizures and we were going to a different dr and the meds put me in a state where I was not able to walk or talk and as many times my mom begged my first Dr to change my meds she said no so my mom took me to Laurie children’s for a second opinion and within hours of changing my meds I was walking and talking again. If it wasn’t for this hospital I wouldn’t have made it to 30 or even lived a good life if I did. Thank you forever to the nurses and doctor who fought for me ❤️

After so many failed sick visits in different hospitals and clinics in the suburbs, we decided to go to the city to Lurie’s. Best decision! Check in, triage, getting a room and hetting seen was super quick! All nurses and doctors were so kind to our family and my child. We got a speedy diagnosis and given medications right there before discharge so we wouldn’t have to wait the next day to pick up the meds at the pharmacy! Everything spoken was clear and they answered all our questions. I don’t care about the drive, I will be returning. 4 stars because of how expensive parking was but other than that, we had a great visit and received the best care.
