Recently a petition was sent with over 6,000 signatures with desperate pleas to update the care and treatment for endometriosis. Excision surgery is the gold standard treatment, yet so few doctors actually know how to do this properly. ACOG's response was merely a pat on the head. They didn't care at all about any of us. It's sickening. I'm extremely furious that there are so many of us suffering from this (1 in 10 women) and no one seems to care at all. The doctors and ACOG only care about getting money from the drug companies so they can keep selling hormone treatments like toxic GnRH drugs to the victims of endometriosis.

ACOG only cares about $$$ from drug companies and does not care about helping or improving lives of ppl suffering every day due to endometriosis. We have been dismissed, shamed, robbed of our organs and freedom by non-educated doctors and now even by AOCG with their response to our disease and the submitted petition. How can you dismiss evidence based researches, studies, testimonials, endo specialists and us asking for changes to be made and completely deny it all? "thanks!"

The ACOG is a joke when it comes to endometriosis. It continues to promote outdated, scientifically proven ineffective "treatments" causing irreparable harm to thousands of women. By continuing on this archaic path, you are giving doctors permission to cause harm to their patients in the form of physical pain and disease progression which can cause complications when legitimate treatment is obtained, deteriorating mental & emotional health by denying them access to scientifically proven excision surgery. Most doctors don't even know about excision. Oftentimes the patient isn't even believed when talking with a doctor about their pain & other endometriosis symptoms. This is your opportunity to be a leader in this common problem of women's health. If you're not up to the task, then get out the way because we patients have reached our limit. We are tired of suffering needlessly for years and disgusted & angered by your ineptitude.

Endometriosis care in this country is at best substandard, it is your organization's duty to update standards of care based on the latest scientific research. You are failing millions of American women debilitated by this horrific disease. Personally you as a man Dr. Zahn, will NEVER understand our pain, but you could at least try to respect, listen to, and treat these patients. I have suffered for OVER TEN YEARS from symptoms of endometriosis and based on guidelines set by the ACOG, I still haven't received adequate treatment of my conditon, let alone pain management. Your response to over 6,000 signatures of women dealing with this hell is a mockery! Informing us you're too busy catching up from vacation, tells me you chose your position to line your wallet, not to help women. Let me remind you of your hippocratic oath, you are first to do no harm! By ignoring clinical evidence, you are bringing unnecessary pain and harm to MILLIONS of women. Shame on you!

ACOG's website lists it's core values as: 1) Access for all women to high quality safe healthcare 2) Professionalism to our membership 3) scholarship in medical science 4) Advocacy for women I find ACOG to be failing in all of these core values when it comes to the treatment of Endometriosis. I know a young teenager that suffered greatly for 3 years from this disease and if her parents had followed the out of date, substandard protocols of care that ACOG currently follows she would have taken a drug that has been proven to have serious side effects or worse had a hysterectomy at the age of 15!!!! Fortunately, she had wide excision laparoscopy surgery with an experienced surgeon and has been 100% pain free since surgery. I am appalled at the lack of interest ACOG shows toward the women suffering from Endo. Which is estimated to be 176 million worldwide and one out of ten in the US. Shame on ACOG!
